Quote:
You will see more very well qualified individuals being passed over. Affirmative action.... Thats right we do not want the most qualified we want the miniority or the female candidate no matter how qualified they are. Picture it you can start every conference call with "Let me Holla at my peeps out there" On a more serious note.... Obama is the most liberal of the 3 candidates. The most important factor in all this is Judges. This upcoming president is going to be appointing a couple this term. Being a justice isnt a term its until retirement. This will affect us for a very long time. Be real none of these candidates is going to end the war anytime soon. |

We certainly will not get the posts back if the war continues. No one is certain what ending the war will do but as a member of the National Guard I can tell you we will never..I repeat never..be done in that country. I have been over there twice and I can say for certain we will be over there 1000 years.

Regardless of your personal beliefs, the fact remains (and has been clearly demonstrated) that AFGE is too diverse to endorse a candidate. It is irresponsible and sends a false impression to voters. People now think that Federal government employees overwhelmingly support Obama, which is not the case.

How does your OT drying up change your morals and belief system? Basically you're saying that your morals and belief system is for sale. Interesting.

Re: Obama picks up 9 superdelegates, union endorsement
Way back when CPL had their blog, I posted the following:
"Republican, Democrat, Independent does not mean d*ck if that is the basis of our demise. People need to quit fighting over political parties and get to doing what is right for the people, by the people. I am an independent because I choose to be, mainly because both parties, more so locally than nationally, have many good ideas on how they intend to run things if they get elected into office. I do not shun them for their ideas, nor their principles. Everyone has their own reasons for how they vote, and I do not question their motives, I only ask for insight, because maybe I missed something. The union is not a political machine, we are a labor machine, and although there is too much politics placed in the union, it should not be. Unions need to stand together, politics aside, and fight the good fight. When I became the chief steward, it was because I was tired of management taking away stuff when they should not be, not because W was in office. I do it because I want to secure a safe, fruitful environment for my staff long after I am gone. It's not about being right or wrong, it's about getting it done for your people at your prison, and if other prisons can learn from you and win at their prisons, then something was accomplished, otherwise sh*t else don't matter, and while you enjoy living off of Hillary's social plans, you can go vote for Jeb, and wonder 'what could've been'. My name is Big Pappa Pump and I most definately approved this message." This was posted in early 2005, after the last Presidential elections. Since that time, nothing has changed. But here are some examples of what I am referring to: W appointed people to the FLRA, and FSIP, both agencies have made it a point to flush union rights down the toilet. John Edwards, Hillary and Barrack all have over a 95% voting record when it comes to Union rights being preserved. Mccain is not going to mess with the 2nd Amendment, but to insinuate that the Democrats will is silly. When Slick Willy was in office, I did not lose my rights under the 2nd Amendment, so to make the suggestion that the Dems. will somehow screw with my rights is unfounded. Ahead of the 2nd Amendment would be issues like the war, the economy, the environment, and health care. I seriously doubt any of the candidates have any inclinations towards doing away with your rights to bear arms. If Mccain gets in office, I see a very bleak future for prison workers. I see our jobs being contracted out to Whack-a-Mole and Cost Cutting Agency(CCA). Mccain has a less than 10% voting record when it comes to union rights. He has made it clear that he does not think the Government needs to be dealing with unions. Whether you are a union member or not, it is of no consequence, because the union is YOU. It is your job, it is your paycheck. You are a bargaining unit member, so if Mccain busts the union, he busts you. The war is not ending, no matter all of the empty promises made. I believe Barrack said that if elected in 2009, that he would pull out all of the troops. What he did not say was when he would pull the troops out! All the vets out there can verify this, the only thing that will change in that region if we pull out is that American troops will not be killed. The civil war in that region will continue as if we were never there. Personally, I do not like any of the candidates, but I love my paycheck. So in deciding who to vote for, I have to look at who will preserve my rights as a government worker and ensure that I have a job to keep putting food on the table. In the upcoming elections, I will vote for JOB SECURITY. As I said in 2005, I am BIG PAPPA PUMP, and I approved this message.

Very well said. As i have often said, the only thing Bush hates worse than AFGE and the government worker is AL Qaeda.
